Abhiseck Paira
Name in IPA: /əʊvɪ.ʃeɪk pɔɪ.rə/
24 years old, male, undergraduate student of Computer Science in India. Loves GNU, Free (স্বাধীন) Software and Mathematics. Aspires to be hacker[1] and good human being.

I'm in love with XMPP/Jabber. I've been using it for months now and I'm very satisfied. I'm recommending it to everyone who'd listen to me.
Now all of my close friends, with whom I chat regularly, are on #xmpp! I'll be trying to get some more people. I had to distribute the Conversations app directly to them as they were unlikely to install "one more app" (viz. f-droid) to install Conversations.
I try not to mention the word "xmpp", instead I say "Just install Conversations". As hearing the word "xmpp" will probably scare them as well.
I have bought two cheap fountain pens from local stores. This is the first time I'm using fountain pens.
One of them is a demonstrator pen with a piston based ink filling mechanism similar to the Twisby one.
How do people even use windows and modern web (without ads blockers etc.)? I was on a friend's computer today experienced it. Every link I click opens 2 new tabs to display me ads. Macfee (whatever) antivirus software starts scanning the computer randomly popping a window and tells me to buy premium. It's chaos everywhere!
friend: Why is this called social.linux.pizza?
Me: Because our admin likes linux and pizza. And this is a kind of social media.

Good video overall, but some parts I disagree like why would an #Emacs user use VsCode? Also no Emacs user who has used it for more than a month would keep per toolbar/menubar active.

To some GNU's vision of free software may seem like utopia. But when GNU was launched the vision was much more achievable. Companies weren't making hardware that would need to non free firmware, websites weren't trying to send software to other people's computers (websites didn't exist then).
With advancement of tech, we are gradually losing freedoms that computer
users traditionally had. [1/2]
So I found a 10 year old open issue in gnu coreutils that I can reproduce. Should I try to fix it and send a patch?
The section on Debian (why it's not recommended by GNU) has been updated. :D
