Technical person-thing usually doing a mix of dev, infra, ops and management.

Slated for deletion somewhere in 2026 so don't get attached.

@briankrebs@infosec.exchange @campuscodi@mastodon.social if car manufacturers cared about user safety wouldn't they cap the speed? Breathalysers? But suddenly there's invasive telemetry involved so let's change laws?

So do we wait for Trump to approve the results of this game or are we ok with regular officiating? #FIFA

@majorlinux I think ignoring crypto worked out fine providing it's an ecosystem slated to destroy itself from within - I think AI will get there too

So how hard do you think one has to lean into Catholicism in order avoid AI for religious reasons? Asking for a friend

@Vivaldi why do you choose to fight with your foundational technology instead of rolling your own? I refuse to use anything Chromium solely so that there are other engines that may survive, why don't you?

Y'all are aware that AI is going to kill visual, audio and textual trust on every single medium right?

I cannot imagine why anyone would want this technology. You want an internet full of worthless slop? This is how you get an internet full of worthless slop.

@audin @majorlinux do we have to make it a religious tenet for people to stand their ground and refuse to use it? Thou shalt not use AI and then you can refuse for religious reasons if that's easier? Life's too short to do shit you don't want to do, especially 35 hours a week. Voice your opinion with good arguments, get in line and look for a job that uses AI in a way you are comfortable with.

@jon move away from Chrome and I'll try. The only reason to support a browser is to support diversity in the web and avoid a(nother) Google monopoly. As it is now, you're just another flavour of a Google drink.

Most humans seem to be in such a hurry to offload their thinking abilities that they never think about it at all.

Everyone who preceded you in human evolution is frowning at you.

There is just no way that an LLM should be writing your RCAs. Just no. SRE needs to be precise, keep your dirty AI off it.

@HunterZ@mastodon.sdf.org @cholling@bytes.programming.dev @Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net I understand all that, but imagine if the OS sphere was entirely controlled by corporations. Similarly, if it can be done for OSes, it can be done for rendering engines. Plus with AI agents, there really should be more courageous ventures.

What happened to America's God complex? You can be a hero, today. The whole world can be indebted to you. All to do what your constitution tells you to do. They'll for sure make a movie about you. I mean, come on how much more incentive do you need

@paige@masto.canadiancivil.com without context, have to go with AA since if someone is randomly asking about batteries, they probably need an AA so *having* the battery would be impressive but not the battery itself.. if we go instead with "whoa... you're carrying that?" then we have to go with 9V because.. why?

Here's hoping the same happens to the US and Hormuz.
