The other day we walked from Poolewe to the jetty on Fionn Loch near its western end.
These are the snaps of Skye along the way, I'll post some of the views later.
Lives in the Highlands, often takes the dog for a walk in the hills. Completed the Wainwright fells. Now trying to do a few Munros, Corbetts and long walks.
Using Linux since the 1990s, likes old land rovers, border collies, and enjoys taking mediocre photies.

Monday was lovely and cool so we went round the Mountain Trail from Glas Leitire.
Despite the mizzle and a heavy squall we had a good walk to the ford across the Abhainn Loch na h-Oidhche yesterday. I didn't bother trying to cross as it was over the lower stepping stones and flowing fast. Skye was very miffed!
Of course, afterwards we dropped in to Slatterdale where she had a good swim. Not only does she love a swim there it gets her clean.
Skye keeping an eye on an approaching couple in Contin Woods yesterday.
Earlier this week we also had a visit to Contin Woods. I expected rain but we managed to get round twice in the dry. Once back at the van a succession of heavy showers swept in!
Some views from our walk.
Sad to read about the passing of Dolly Parton. She was one of the Good Ones.
On Friday the ford across the Abhainn Loch na h-Oidhche was very low so we were able to get across the stepping stones with dry toes. At least I did. Someone went and stood in the river, obvs.
Good long walk today. Notable for an older cyclist mansplaining that "I think you are on the wrong path". "Nope" says I.... My navigation is obviously better than his.
And the driving. Oh the driving!
People carrier stationary in the carriageway just round a limited visibility corner.
Watched as a car sped up while being overtaken.
Car doing 40mph in a 60 (for cars) still doing 40 in the 20mph limit in Contin.
Looking on ebay for a replacement wiper arm for the van... as the paint is coming off.
Item price 30quid.
Postage 25quid.
Umm, no. It's the Highlands no the fricking moon people.
We got out yesterday for stroll in the sunshine after the previous day's rain and before the forecast rain in the afternoon.
The Loch Glascarnoch track isn't the most exciting or longest walk, but it has views, and no burns in spate to cross. So... reliable.
We've been out a few times in the last couple of weeks, but was hiding from the weather in the woods. I didn't feel inspired to take same-y photos in the dull and grey.
So here's a better photo from early March on the way to Lochan Fada.
We got out into the sunshine this morning.
"Is that some kinda fancy licker..."
"sure is".
Have we done that play on words before?
Probably.
Oh well.
Have a comedy Skye photie to distract from.... well everything.
Oh my!.... All I was asking her to do was look up so I could snap a photo.
Thursday night's sunset was a cracker!
We headed into the tent soon after as it was getting cold and we were both dog tired(!). Wasn't a great sleep but being among the mountains was absolutely awesome.
We were pretty lucky with the weather yesterday. Rained on a wee bit but plenty of sun too. Breezy.
Well, the most important job this morning is done...
My Bear, Blue, had a hole appearing in a seam. So just a bit of minor surgery to stitch that up and check him over for any others. He's a bit fragile now being at least 60 years old.
Just like "flying ant day" there appears to be "car club day": that is when all the car clubs around the UK suddenly leave their hibernation and resume racing around the NC500 and other wee roads.
Easily a couple of dozen groups seen just between Slatterdale and Garve.
A wonderful 2 hour escape to the Canadian woods, lakes and a new pup.
It's videos like this that keep me on youtube.
In some ways I like seeing what my Garmin watch thought of my sleep. Sometimes it's interesting, amusing maybe and sometimes just wrong.
Last night was scored 83/100: "Good".
Except I forced myself awake from a nightmare involving Skye. Was dreaming earlier too where I woke having thought I heard a door slam in the house.
And I've felt absolutely brain dead and shite all morning. So much for Good.
