Well, stick a fork in me because I am officially done. Just bummed a Werther's hard candy from a loved one. All downhill from here. Next thing you know I'll be putting out little cut glass bowls of ribbon candy that nobody is allowed to eat.

Grief is a funny thing. I'm really missing my grandfather today because it's his birthday. He was born 109 years ago and he died from Parkinson's over 40 years ago but today I'm really feeling his absence. I miss puttering around in his garden with him. I miss cutting through the woods by his house so we could check in on my great aunt and eat her coffee cake. I miss the way he tried to whistle but could barely make a sound. I love my grandpa. Wish I could see him.

I was going to post some Caturday pictures but I spent a good chunk of the day with my arms pinned under my sweet shy little fluff gal. Best Caturday ever! She loves to snuggle but sometimes she only wants a few seconds.

@yonkeltron@jawns.club I so miss those days when I could load up on inexpensive paperbacks and read for weeks. Plus they are much kinder to arthritic joints than trade paperbacks or hardcovers.
I've made my peace with ebooks and love some of their features but MMPs will always hold a fond place in my heart.

@masek@infosec.exchange I intentionally bought a somewhat dumb smart vacuum and just live with the annoyance of it wedging itself under furniture occasionally because I have trust issues with a fully GPS powered unit. Good to know that people with much better tech knowledge than I are making a stand and fighting back.
