I'm experimentally (and perhaps temporarily) experimenting running my own instance, follow me there? @muris@social.bananabanana.me

I would like to personally thank AI and everyone involved in solving my impostor syndrome. You have all made me understand the deep meaning of what is to be an impostor! 🥰

Hello it’s been a while! My dear instance, sunbeam.city, got some technical trouble. It was a week of not reading you all and I have to say, I missed it very much.

Aw :( The jar of my favorite hand picked and (apparently not enough) dried herb got mold.

My dear wife has just worked her ass off for the past 3 months designing, animating and coordinating a team of more than 20 volunteers to make this video. It would mean a lot for me, for her and for all of us if you could help spreading it:

The idea

I unfollowed a record amount of people this week for they posted or boosted "AI content" :T It gets much worse before it gets better, I guess...

Windmill project is getting an upgrade.

Today it happened! Someone placed a windmill in the garden!!! ✨ And it's a really interesting one!

Life is salty water:
Sweat, tears and the sea.

The wagging tail 🥹

The other day I was coming back home and I saw three or four species of birds pecking just under the bird feeder. Not all the birds can reach that thin branch where it hangs. Great and blue tits know how to pick a seed and hold it with their feet while they nibble bits out like tiny wood peckers. The other birds pick the seeds and let it drop. It looks like they are wasting it but it turns out to be sharing! Thank you, bird teachers!

✨

The pair of wood pidgeons that tried to nest in our balcony seem to have found a better place to live on the building across the parking lot. They still hangout a lot and I learned to identify one of them by a failure on their tail. I think it's like a mustache gap, kind of charming. When they arrive they almost always have a little branch on the beak 🕊️ . I am recurrently observing them deliberately dropping some branches on the bath. I like to think they are flavouring the water hehe

Today I watched a cute and heartbreaking scene. An excited neighbor was showing the garden to a man, she pointed at the pots and the bird bath, cleaned up a little and admired the windmills! 🥹

I recycled some old raised beds for her a while ago and she was so happy and excited about planting! We don't have a language in common, but I feel we communicate through the joy in our looks pointing at sprouts.

Then the man started to talk. Her face changed immediately.

In my reading he was saying something against the birds and pointing out the place was not oriented correctly and so this should probably not be god's stuff. They are very religious people.

She got so visibly sad. In the middle of the oppressing speech from the guy, another woman passes by dismissing him. I think she said "all in nature is god's creation" or something like that and led the caravan to the car.

I watched two kids approaching the bird bath with their father. They looked at the coins laying there and I thought they were excited to drop some new ones but no, those were little thieves giggles. A tradition passed down over the centuries.

Two new friends I made yesterday: Femfingerört and Sparvnäva.

“I will pluck the yarrow fair
That more benign will be my face,
That more warm shall be my lips,
That more chaste shall be my speech,
Be my speech the beams of the sun,
Be my lips the sap of the strawberry.
May I be an isle in the sea,
May I be a hill on the shore,
May I be a star in the waning of the moon,
May I be a staff to the weak.
Wound can I every man,
Wound can no man me.””
