MDMRN

Good morning and happy Monday!

Spent the weekend visiting my family in upstate NYS. The kids had fun with their cousins.

But, glad to be back home.

Hope you have a great one and had a good weekend.

This week's Tune Tuesday theme is 6 Underground, songs about things that occur under the ground...

And my first thought was Subway from Sesame Street. https://musiccloud.io/GKh44

What? I can't help where my mind goes.

Monday was my oldest's 17th birthday.

I didn't talk too much about it here, cause this week has been just...wildly busy. Ran to work, then had to run to a softball game for MDMRN Twin 1 afterwards, so we were planning to do stuff yesterday for him, which collapsed as my SIL and family are all sick.

But, it happens.

It's wild that this boy, born 10 weeks early at 3 lbs 1.4 ounces is a snarky, 17 year old who is taller than I am.

Time...where does it go?

#Parenting #Life

It's an older track, but for Music Women Wednesday - let's do the virtual band K/DA's "Pop / Stars" https://song.link/i/1831861474

Just listened to it with my kids over the weekend. Still holds up.

Good morning and happy Wednesday!

Back to work after a 4 day weekend. Which always feels like a harsher Monday than normal.

On a Wednesday.

Oh well.

Hope you have a great day

As we are now in June, let's discuss the music I listened to in May.

As I've said each month, I've been tracking my offline listening habits with some math to track which songs I listen to most all year by resetting my "Most Played" playlist monthly and summing up the top songs.

So, for May, here's my Top 10 most listened to songs:

1. New Found Glory - King of Wishful Thinking
2. Qwer - Bad Habit
3. Video Game Rap Battles - Pokémon Villain Rap Cypher
4. Mothica - Save Your Roses
5. Magnolia Park - Don't Be Racist
6. They Might Be Giants - Wu-Tang
7. Everglow - Can't Be Broken
8. NMIXX - Crescendo
9. Whee In - Symphony of Fxxkboys (pronounced Fuckboys)
10. All Time Low - Monsters

Interesting three new tracks popped up onto my list for the month.

My wife got me a Reese's Marshmallow Big Cup to try.

Let me tell you...I didn't like it.

Every one of these Reese's Peanut Butter cups with the small layer of something else on the bottom I haven't enjoyed. Whether it's the PB&J ones, this, or the chocolate lava ones - none are my thing.

In each case, I find the extra layer at the bottom to taste oozy, sticky, and artificially similar, but different than the intended flavor.

So, no thanks. Will never eat again.

Good morning and happy Friday!

My parents and one of my brothers are coming into town...some time this afternoon. Exact ETA? :akkoShrug:

MDMRNia (14) has the second night of the play she's involved in and tomorrow night, as I mentioned, is Junior prom for Little MDMRN (16). So, busy weekend with family in town.

Hope you have a great one. I'll be watching a High School production of Little Shop of Horrors tonight.

Good afternoon and happy Sunday.

Relatively chill weekend, which was nice after a few weeks of really busy.

Yesterday did a lot of laundry, played some ACNH and LeafGreen, helped out the kids, ran a few errands, and read some manga.

Today we had church, and my wife and I are going out tonight alone for dinner. Which should be fun.

Hope you have a great one.

Woke up today with Little Lion Man from Mumford and Sons in my head. https://song.link/s/2KrN3MCNztKcSleZgHEj83

What is interesting to me is how many newer songs have popped into my Top 10 of the month. Well, new in that they were not on the list last month.

Based on the point system allocating points based on their placement month over month, here's my current Top 10 for the year:

1. Mothica - Save Your Roses
2. Ive - Blackhole
3. Hanabie - Iconic; AJR - The Big Goodbye; Ive - Bang Bang (tie)
4. Goldfinger ft Spencer Charnas - Derelict
5. All Time Low - Monsters
6. Hana - Non Stop
7. Everglow - Can't Be Broken; Goldfinger ft Mark Hoppus - Freaking Out a Bit

Mothica is still on top, but some of the ties have shifted a bit. Not a lot, but a bit.

Welcome to April 2026! As I discussed in previous months, I am tracking my offline listening habits closely. Each month, I am refreshing my "most listened" playlist in order to track month to month. This rolls up with some...math I've devised, to confirm my most listened to tracks of the year using a point system.

So far, it's working and interesting.

1. Ive - Blackhole
2. Goldfinger ft Spencer Charnas - Derelect
3. Mothica - Save Your Roses
4. Everglow - Can't Be Broken
5. Ive - Bang Bang
6. Alexa - Tongue Tied
7. Hana - Non Stop
8. Saja Boys - Your Idol
9. Magnolia Park - Don't Be Racist
