@neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk Frankly, there is a strong argument for no access without some sort of formal qualification... (and I'm more than willing to write the exams).

@openrisk The killer blow was when form became more important than function (design overrides engineering). I'd argue that the absence of an "include" tag in HTML underlies a lot of it - much of the rot is caused by techniques to overcome the absence of maintainable modularity in the original HTML itself.

Today feels like a good day to start work on a book that I've been pondering for a few months. #writing #ForensicScience #DFIR

@neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk Isn't strangulation/suffocation already covered by the prohibition on extreme imagery ? (CJI Act 2008) [Even if juries disagree with how to interpret it]
(disclosure: I was an expert witness in the case that eventually led to this bit of legislation)

@brianmerchant@mastodon.social The "social" aspect is the bit that gets lost when these centralised platforms become "media". "Monetised media" would, perhaps, be a better description of their ambitions.

@bermudianbrit@mastodon.online For 30 years I have been saying that the answer is not to install filters, or ban access - it's to move the bloody computers into family space, where they can be observed, and proper discussions and education carried out.

@interpipes@thx.gg It would, however, give the frog-faced fascist yet another excuse to get his loathsome fizzog and opinions broadcast by the mass media. No need to hand opportunities to him so easily.

@fehrtrade@toot.community That's the problem with all these petitions. Apart from holding a debate, nobody has to do anyrhing as a result of them. They give the illusion of listening without requiring understanding or action.
