@RickiTarr@beige.party my favorite parts? 1. No algorithm. You see what you choose. 2. Related to that, there's no artificial boosting so little need to make performative posts for some kind of reach. 3. You get to choose your home server and mine is super small and carefully moderated, so it feels both manageable and safe.

@orionkidder@writing.exchange @mcmullin@musicians.today @allisonwyss@zirk.us @Mayobrot@zirk.us @JonSparks@writing.exchange @BigFrickinSwede@gilbertredman.masto.host ugh. This is why we can't have nice things.

And edited to add: sorry for my snarky quick reply. This is a serious problem and I definitely don't mean to minimize it. I do appreciate the ability for servers to have strong mod policies and block as needed. It's why I'm comfortable on this small, well managed server. It just means I lose the context of some threads.

It is terrible that some people use even these features for evil.

So I've moved my main account to zirk.us & it's been stable for quite some time. Today it's apparently down for maintenance. Anyone know anything more?

@foolisholivia@chaosfem.tw oh, WOW!!!
