i’ve often found it kinda awkward that ptn is rather chief-centric. sure she’s not even in some chapters, but even then she generally haunts the narrative Really hard on a related note, the writing is in an awkward place where chief has a really distinct personality and yet for official purposes is treated as a player self insert anyway an interview kinda made sense of this for me. these two things hold together a facade of player agency in lieu of actual choices (which the game is actually better for lacking!) they have to maintain this facade bc without it theres not a real excuse to argue this is a game at all, and aisno seems unsure of what to do with a not-game
