@syhr@mastodon.art in my experience Organic Maps is better than Google Maps for navigation but worse for "finding stuff", so I usually just end up finding addresses to places in some other way, through searching online for example. If it's repeatedly frustrating you can of course just add the place you want to OpenStreetMap and it will show up in the app after a month or so.

for an all-apple shop, it might make sense to set up content caching https://support.apple.com/guide/deployment/intro-to-content-caching-depde72e125f/web -- as I understand it, it requires an apple computer (big surprise), but you can apparently set it up to act as a local cache server inside the network

@stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe this article links to https://it-notes.dragas.net/2024/05/31/freebsd-tips-and-tricks-native-ro-rootfs/ which made me wonder, how do you stop /var for example from filling up ram when it's tmpfs? Do you just set "size" in fstab?
