Honored that Django News Newsletter included my PyCon US 2026 Recap in today's issue. 😊 https://django-news.com/archive/issue-347-django-61-release-candidate-1-released/
Today's article in Django News Newsletter marks the 13th time I've been featured! I was looking through the archive earlier and bookmarked a lot of articles to read.
My PyCon US 2026 Recap is live. The conference was an absolute blast, and I am still taking away new learning. Thank you to everyone who made it happen. I can't wait for next year! https://katherinemichel.github.io/blog/conferences/pycon-us-2026-recap.html
If your team gets so many chances to score and can't, is it good either? Scoring is your job. 😂
Hat tip to my friend Mariatta for the Long Beach PyCon US recommendations. 🍨 🐟️ https://travel.mariatta.ca/pycon-us-2026/
A couple days ago, I discovered that I could buy a remote ticket to EuroPython. Excited to attend for the first time. I'd love to make it in person someday :)
I really want to go get some Tex-Mex, but this England-Norway game has me 👀
DjangoCon US talk list is now live! Looking forward to this. https://2026.djangocon.us/news/announcing-lineup/
In January of 2019, I bought an early bird ticket to GitHub Universe for $99. What a steal. It's $799 this year.
Thank you to DEFNA President Peter Grandstaff and Two Rock Software for treating DEFNA Board Members in Durham for DjangoCon US to a magical dinner last night at Parizade. The apple pie mezcal margarita, linguini and clams, cookie and ice cream dessert, and company were stellar.
Thank you to Django News Newsletter for featuring my Django Software Foundation Member of the Month interview in today's edition. "She shares some insightful thoughts on the current state of Django and where it can go from here, especially around AI." https://django-news.com/archive/issue-348-one-month-until-djangocon-us/
I need an explainer. Is Argentina trying? Are they tired? Are they just not as good as Spain?
I feel sorry for the Argentinian goalkeeper. He's had to make so many saves. Surprised Spain has the ball so much. It seems like the odds are in their favor if they just keep making shots.
Finding out that a childhood friend shot himself isn't how I expected my day to end. So sad that he wasn't open to treatment.
Python Language Summit talk details. Looking forward to the write-up. https://ep2026.europython.eu/language-summit/#talk-details
