@typeswitch@gamedev.lgbt but what face are they making when they say it? are they making eye contact or kinda looking away?
@esvrld@normal.style @mym@toot.cat “why are you wet” “what are you eating” “what have you done with my other sock”
am i doing this right
@ellyxir@humanwords.cc it’s all a bunch of nonsense but when it works it feels so futuristic and delightful. my outside lights come on when i pull up to the house at night. turning off my phone alarm turns my bedroom light on. but mainly, the killer feature is not having to get off the couch when there’s a cat asleep on me
@StefanThinks@beige.party @ColesStreetPothole@weatherishappening.network 1) this post goes hard and i respect that
b) isn’t this true of many insects? i think fireflies are the same, they only eat as larvae, the actual firefly stage is just for looking pretty, mating, laying eggs and shuffling off this mortal coil
i thought i was gonna hate-read this article on how much New Yorkers get paid, but it was oddly fascinating to read about how people make money and the joys and anxieties specific to those careers https://web.archive.org/web/20260309121953/https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/new-york-salaries-jobs.html
@chrisamaphone@hci.social @stavvers@masto.ai @lea@mastodon.social the prospect of keeping track of *any* objects gives me anxiety which ... started out as a joke post but explains a lot actually
@mediapathic.bsky.social i think for me personally i get so much decision fatigue that i decide i don’t want the thing, or anything in its category, after all
@typeswitch@gamedev.lgbt team aggressively curate your feed 4eva
i love social media and it’s a positive thing for my mental health. a big part of why is i am quick to block, mute, or unfollow. my feed is like a little bonsai tree that i’m always pruning.
@carnage4life@mas.to @cate@hachyderm.io a very weird take, like a glimpse into another reality. “You might imagine this would unsettle and demoralize programmers. Some of them, certainly. But I spoke to scores of developers this past fall and winter, and most were weirdly jazzed about their new powers.”
yeah because a decent number of us who are “unsettled and demoralized” (and got laid off thanks to AI boosterism) are simply… not around to be interviewed about workflows anymore. survivorship bias at its best 🤷🏻
