@rolle@mementomori.social One major obstacle, personally, is that people expect a released open source code to have some sort of a governance model, which no one really agrees what is the right one, and active ongoing maintenance. And they expect the maintenance to happen on their preferred schedule, whatever that is.
And I'm like, I'm just doing this for fun, I'll patch things if I feel like, or not at all. And if you start sending me 1000+ lines of code to review, I'd rather just go outside and throw rocks, or whatever.
Also I prefer free software licenses, cause I don't feel like doing the corporate overlords any extra favors, and that just brings about its own group of haters.
