Ask smart people stupid questions.
I like nature, animals, learning, stories, books, people.
Engineering Manager @ primer.io, but opinions and toots are my own.
Trained in Philosophy and American Lit, then turned to Engineering. I like liking things.
Every year I put out my thoughts on the books I've read last year. This serves two purposes: it serves as a snapshot of what I thought of books at the time that I read them, and also as an easy one-stop shop list for when my family and friends inevitably ask me for recommendations.
It contains everything, fiction and non-fiction, sci-fi to litfic. I like to read wide, so there should be something for everyone.
Here is 2025's!
When I was competing at Gwent, Anna Podedworna (https://bsky.app/profile/akreon.bsky.social) was by far my favorite artist. I usually could tell which cards in a new patch were hers because I liked them so much.
She's done amazing work in Magic The Gathering, and for others like Riot Games and Jagex.
She's excellent, and she now has an artbook running on Kickstarter until June 12. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spiridon/akreon
I've snagged mine already, but in case you needed a nudge :) #art #anna #podedworna #kickstarter
Blueberry season has hit the local supermarkets and I have found the will to live again
One of the things that the currently terrible job market has brought to the surface is that a lot of tech folks are not used to not having negotiating power. A few years ago, if you didn't love your job, you could get a new one. People had options. Less options means people feel more stuck and put up with more. I hope it turns around, but I also hope it gives techies some perspective before they tell other people "just switch jobs lol" like everyone can. #tech #software #developers
