Look at this little friend I spotted outside the kitchen window!
MN folks: I have two tickets to see The Midnight this Friday May 1st at the Palace Theater. I’m not going to be able to use them. Would you like them? I don’t want any cash for them, would rather them be used and enjoyed.
Send me a DM or Signal (see bio) if interested.

It was time to order more of my daily coffee so I was perusing the site. I found my aspirational personality/character type!
I rarely enjoy candy. When I do, though, it’s nearly always something that is sour and chewy.
Recently some Warheads brand sour taffy made its way into our house and holy moly are they good. Very sour, and it lasts through the whole candy. Many sour candies have only a sour coating, after which it becomes normal sweet candy, which is not interesting to me.
I will need to find a good source for these to keep a handful around for every now and again.
What a morning! I would be very happy if every day in Minnesota was like this, year-round.
Sitting on the deck enjoying my coffee, listening to the breeze and the birds.
A quick miso soup for the fam this evening.
I’m looking forward to seeing long-nosed and polka-dotted Halloween costumes later this year.
Existential question of the day, being discussed currently in our house:
At what point during the process does bread turn into toast?
Please discuss freely.
Speaking of road trips, I discovered a new technological breakthrough in snacking technology! I’d previously been a fan of dill pickle sunflower seeds, but these? These are another level! Very good.
I am not super looking forward to the inevitable cultural onslaught of (American) football content that comes along with this time of the year.
I have an option to go to the :statefair: tomorrow morning with some friends. To go or to not go, that is the question. I would bike there and use one of the bike corrals.
Or I could sit in the quiet at home for the morning. Hmmm.
This morning I finished the “Livesuit” novella by James S.A. Corey. Fun little interlude!
Now onto book 2 of their Captive’s War series.
I am going to start carrying a silverware set in my suitcase for whenever I travel. I have a perpetual issue of getting takeout then bringing it back to my room and realizing I forgot to get eating utensils. Then I inevitably need to go back down to the hotel lobby and kindly ask the hotel bar if I can use a silverware set. 😄
Carrying a set with me along with some spare disposable chopsticks will nicely solve this problem.
Montana/Wyoming?!? I did not expect that. Lol.
Are there any decent multi-OS USB stick systems out there that aren’t Ventoy?
I’m looking for a relatively easy way to keep a few OS install images on a thumb drive. Some Linux, some Windows.
Boosts welcome!
This little thing has been a travel game changer for me.
At home I’m used to having a fan blowing on me at night. I set out a couple weeks ago to find a reasonable solution to let me bring a fan when I’m traveling. This is a USB-powered fan that moves a surprising amount of air! I always have available USB sockets near the bedside when traveling, so powering it is easy.
