If we're going to rely on a vaccine-only strategy, you'd think the vaccination part would be more competent.
It's not like we do this for the flu every year or anything. There's clearly no precedent for these unprecedented times.
Bet you haven't heard that one in a while.

The state is exploring heart testing for teen athletes because there have been a weird number of them collapsing and sometimes dying while doing sports.
Getting closer...

Basement is now over 15 ug/m^3 for PM2.5. Maybe I should get my Corsi-Rosenthal box running again.
I do have a commercial air purifier running down there but it doesn’t seem to be effective enough.

Tech bros, “founders”, and crypto guys all have that annoying way of speaking. Not coincidentally, they love AI too, so now it’s seeping into voice assistants and I hate it so much.

It’s not really summer until the sky is a weird shade of pink from wildfire smoke.

@jpaskaruk Silica and dry bags will preserve dryness for a time, but an actual dehydrator will remove moisture. Important if your environment is humid or the filament came from the factory wet.
In my experience PLA is probably better not dried, but PETG definitely needs it.

@lukasm I mean an EcoFlow Delta 3 Plus (with extra battery) will basically do the same job at half the price or less. It also has somewhat better specs.
If there’s grid power, it will run the load on grid power, plus some amount of charging. If grid power suddenly goes out, it will keep powering the load from the battery.
I’ve found the (unofficial) Home Assistant integration to be a bit flaky though - specifically the AC ports get reset anytime the integration reloads, which is no good for me.

@lukasm @christopher It does have that - at least in the US you can go in the app and select your utility and time of day plan. It should then optimize its charging accordingly.
In practice, I’m not sure how well it actually works. It seems that you need to launch the app fairly regularly or the power station doesn’t really know what to do - it’s not as self-contained as it ought to be. There’s a somewhat related storm mode that I’ve never seen work properly either.
These are things that would be more reliably automated with HA and a smart plug.
