Experienced something terrifying yesterday:
A CAPTCHA asking me to identify images where the images themselves were obvious AI slop.
So... I was tasked to prove that I'm real by identifying realness in unreal images.
When you think about it, the film Jaws isn't really about sharks.
It's about one particular shark eating a bunch of people then exploding.

The font supports diacritics for all European languages and many others. Here are just the A glyphs:
Can we talk about SVG filter performance?
I knew that animating turbulence parameters in SVG itself (``) was a performance hog but it seems to go further than that. When I apply a static turbulence-based filter with CSS to an animated element, even that will make my brand new M4 Macbook Pro's fan go ballistic (!)
Remove the filter and everything is cool and quiet, even though I'm sequencing generative music using custom elements behind the animation...

They were really put out but ultimately said "okay we'll just assign it to someone else." I don't know what happened with the account but I should have made my refusal a public announcement.
