Hello there!
My interests here are primarily low-level computer programming and interacting with people :)

Some of my projects, which I talk about:

#FoundationProject -- a project to rethink and rebuild the foundations of computer technology.

#SubSky -- A minimalistic RISC CPU architecture. 16 opcodes, 16 operands, 32 bits, and a custom low-level programming language. https://gitlab.com/golemwire/subsky #ISADesign #smallComputing

#Itemsys -- an object-capability model which defines how data and actions work in a computer system.

#FoundationOS -- The OS of the Foundation project; Itemsys as an operating system. #OSDev

#BeingsOfIsness -- an action-adventure story game with fighting-game mechanics, in development for SubSky and the Foundation OS (and normal computers too :) ). #gameDev

Since this is a personal account, I'll sometimes share other random things, usually in the form of boosts.

I'm really glad #snac uses mode 660 for many of its data files. It makes it really easy for me to add my main user to my server's snac group, and be able to administer as my normal user without su'ing into the snac user. Lots of people don't seem to think these details through, or they just forget about #unix features. The Snac author ( @grunfink@comam.es ) did it though! Thanks! Addendum: I also just learned about using the setgid bit on a directory. That was used, too. Cool! https://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/manual/html_node/Directory-Setuid-and-Setgid.html

@joel@fosstodon.org I have the 2nd one on the bottom (or one that looks almost identical to it)! I had two of them, and broke both wristbands. Someday I need to buy another wristband for this or my #SQFMIWatchy (which had a wristband which also broke).

I.e. is your Pinebook Pro faulty, or is it an issue with NetBSD. (Since lots of the BSDs don't have wide hardware support.)

@grumpy_website@mastodon.online If deletion is more-commonly used, and has a prompt to make sure they really want to delete, then it's not a bad thing IMO. #UIUX

It's a neat idea, but there are a few drawbacks worth bringing up: Many people would get "lazy" with #altText , as they might feel the responsibility has shifted away from them to write it. If that happened, we could end up with less alt-text, not more. A #CW suggestion system might end up being a spam and strife risk, because a lot of people would not want to CW certain topics, and they might get spammed by CW requests, especially if the requests work privately like DMs. I'd take an alt-text suggestion system, but maybe not the CW suggestion system. @jolla@techhub.social @AnimeAndVisial@mastodon.social They allow "sideloading" of APKs, actually, which run in some sort of Android-compatible container. I hope you're right, though Peri Fractic's article on the Callback seems to suggest it is actually locked-down. Hopefully it'll be "rootable", so there's at least some way for the user to exercise control. That's just fundamental.

Non-neurodivergent people do this too. It's insecurity. I've definitely been there.

@benpate@mastodon.social I think more political diversity would help. There is a strong far-left leaning here, and I think having more people on the right (but not the far-right, like MAGA level) present would be good in the long run. When posters fail the liberal purity tests, instead of getting bullied and harassed and dogpiled in the replies, there would be arguments between people who think the purity test must be enforced on everyone, and those who do not. So instead of getting bullied away from the platform, they'd just get a typical internet-style comment-section fight, where the attention is diverted away from the OP and towards eachother. It would still be annoying, but it'd be better than the replies mainly being hate towards the OP. #Mastodon #Fediverse #socialMedia #partisanship

@rzeta0@mathstodon.xyz p ⇒ q is the same as ~p ∨ q. So, p ⇒ q is false only when p is true and q is false. false ⇒ true is true, so it looks like "X is true only if Y is true" is wrong.

@rzeta0@mathstodon.xyz Idk. While going down a Wikipedia rabbit trail about logic, I found something called https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intuitionistic_logic . I don't know a lot about it, but apparently implication works differently in it. Might be a lead https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Material_implication_(rule_of_inference)#Differences_with_implication_in_intuitionistic_logic

I do quite dislike how much browsers reveal about their users. Some Web standards seem malicious or naive.

I've had fun writing a bit in GeOS's GeoWrite on the C64U. I haven't tried it, but https://github.com/mist64/geowrite2rtf looks like it could convert GeoWrite docs to normal formats.

That seems reasonable. Maybe you could even add extra traces of superglue to make it symmetrical and look nice :) I'm sure there's also some complicated 3D-printing method to replace these, out of smaller printed parts.

@joe@toot.works When I used #Mastodon , in the settings you could view your followers and filter them by whether they were considered active or inactive. That might help.
