If the goal is to ship software that is dependable and maintainable once operationalized, we still need an engineering discipline that ensures consistency, security, high quality, and correctness — even when the producer of that software is an AI agent. Organizations need architectures and processes that start to move beyond cowboy, vibe-coding culture to organizationally aligned agentic engineering practices. And for that, MCP is currently the right tool for orgs and enterprises.

Just recently I was involved in discussions whether tool a was better than tool b. I said that ADOPTION would have a ways higher impact than replacing a tool. - I thought it was common sense - I was wrong.

I guess at some (price) point, some companies will start using open models on their own hardware.
On the other hand, the question is, if they manage to make it cheaper. They need the hardware, the energy, redundancy as well...

Ein case für #Paypal etc ist ja das "kannst du mir x€ überweisen?" (zB beim Essen gehen oder so).
die meisten haben doch eine Banking app mit Rechnungs-qr-scanner.
Wieso haben wir keine (web)app, bei der ich meine IBAN etc einmalig lokal hinterlege.
Beim Öffnen nur noch den Betrag eingeben, ok und "partner" kann mir über den generierten QR Code einfach das Geld überweisen. (also der/die muss den natürlich scannen).
Ist das zu einfach gedacht? niemand hat ja lust die IBAN abzutippen

Dashboards sind selten eine Lösung. Eigentlich sind Dashboards nur Arbeitsgenerierungsmaschinen.
Allerhöchstens sind sie ein Zwischenschritt zur Automatisierung

On some days I'm happy about AI:
Had a meeting with our DPO and described what we want to do.
After some questions: "yes - no issues, just drop me a brief mail with what we said and you can have the formal - ok"
... D'OH! we didn't transcribe the meeting.
Talked again to copilot, told the same story again with "write a summary describing the usecase". Enter, check result, done
Yes could have done it myself. But actually the result wouldn't be more concise or readable, I admit.
And no, that does NOT mean we should use AI for EVERYTHING (especially not for creating content that noone asked for)

But it sounds like you found a good tradeoff. One thing I didn't t get: you mentioned a lot of PRs and that reviews didn't become the bottleneck.
