Helemaal mee eens !!!!! Deal Met Donald Trump als president wordt door de regering van de VS het woord 'deal' gebruikt voor afspraken met andere landen. Typisch voor een regeringsleider die alles beziet vanuit commercieel zakendoen. Voor afspraken tussen landen, politieke partijen werd tot dusver het woord 'akkoord' gebruikt, bijvoorbeeld een vredesakkoord, regeringsakkoord, enz. Nu wordt 'akkoord' in deze context steeds meer vervangen door 'deal', ook in de Volkskrant, zoals in de kop boven het Commentaar (24/8). Laten we niet meegaan in de blik op politiek als zakendoen, maar teruggaan naar 'akkoord'. #Volkskrant @volkskrant@mastodon.nl

Ouderenkorting OV Het verdwijnen van de 65-pluskorting in het openbaar vervoer is logisch, zegt Bert van Wee, emeritus hoogleraar transportbeleid aan de TU Delft. De korting komt uit een tijd dat ouderen het financieel niet breed hadden. Tegenwoordig hebben ouderen het financieel vaak beter dan jongere generaties. Dan vraag ik mij af: welke ouderen zitten er in de bus? Ja, voornamelijk de mensen die zich geen auto kunnen permitteren, daar hebben ze die korting voor bedacht! Bert van Wee krijgt er van mij een nieuwe titel bij: huiskamergeleerde.

@ErikJonker@mastodon.social Tegen datacenters zijn houdt mijns inziens niet in dat je je ogen sluit voor de noodzaak van het belang van digitale diensten. Je zegt enkel; meer en meer datacenters is niet de manier om dit te bereiken. Door geen tegengas te geven, door te zeggen “bouw maar hoor” zal er niet worden nagedacht over andere manieren om dit te bereiken. Kijk naar Amerika, daar wordt geen tegengas gegeven aan de oliemaatschappijen, er wordt weer volop ingezet op fossiele brandstoffen en kijkkijk wat doet Shell …. Verkoopt zijn wind- en zonneenergieparken en stopt met onderzoek. DAAROM is het belangrijk dat we laten horen dat we TEGEN iets zijn.
