@blogdiva@mastodon.social Due to an error in proper copyright protocols, the film became part of the public domain during its original release. The Internet Archive has it! https://archive.org/details/The_Brother_from_Another_Planet_1984

@futurebird@sauropods.win This bit right here: You have a purpose! You fulfill it by being! More people need to internalize this!

@futurebird@sauropods.win definitely smaller then. Easier to get needed food/water, and deal with, um ... waste management. 💩 But I defiantly don't want to be eaten.

@joshmillard Not to be "that guy", but this is something that both big biology and micro biology do ... (I'm probably just splitting pairs) 🤭

@eff@mastodon.social 🔨 An alternate method to disable the feature. 🔨

@maxleibman My spreadsheet has become self aware, and has told me I am a genius well ahead of my time!

@fschaap@mastodon.social I moved two older aunts to Linux Mint this year and it's gone relatively smoothly. Got them on SSDs too which really helped with startup time. In my case they mostly just wanted to make sure they could access a hand full of websites, and have zoom. LibreOffice was a good enough substitute for MS Office. I did also install Chrome for them instead of trying to get them on Firefox, being as that is where they spend most of their time, and I wanted to minimize the shock of the change.

@homegrown@social.growyourown.services This is good news! I know the apps sign up flow has been a concern of yours (and others) for a while. Hopefully this will result in healthier, more even distribution of new accounts across the network.

@floatybirb@mastodon.social @SocialJusticeHeals@mastodon.social @CaroleDuckyIrPsych@mastodon.ie No!!! I'm almost certain @futurebird@sauropods.win is activity trying to help the ants take over the world!

@technomancy@icosahedron.website I'm running GoToSocial also, but beware that it is still in alpha, and some features are still missing/buggy. Check out their roadmap on what is implemented and what is coming in the near future. github.com/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/blob/main/ROADMAP.md Some things that are missing for me are: polls, hashtags, video/gifs, and lists.

@veronica@explains.social @haayman@todon.nl @vkc@linuxmom.net @veronica @veronicaexplains I think 18k followers would be the largest account on a gotosocial server. Would be interesting to see how it holds up. cc @dumpsterqueer@gts.superseriousbusiness.org

@veronica@explains.social federation should improve with more followers. Boosts from the mastodon account will push that post to servers with account following it, but future posts won't go to those servers if there aren't any account following your gts account. Running the migration steps should pull in most of followers from the mastodon account and improve federation. (If that's what the plan is.) Glad you are giving gts a try. Hoping the reply controls it has, helps with blocking some of the more toxic/hate replies you were getting with mastodon.

FUCK YEAH!!! This is a long video and well worth it to watch the whole thing, but if you want to see @TechConnectify@mas.to absolutely unload about everything going on in uspol, jump to 1:16:35 mark!

@spocko@mastodon.online This clip at the end of Marshawn's comments is great!

@floatybirb@mastodon.social @SocialJusticeHeals@mastodon.social @CaroleDuckyIrPsych@mastodon.ie @futurebird@sauropods.win Fair enough!

@geerlingguy@mastodon.social No bmc/ipmi ?

@zzeligg@ruby.social Punching up is not the same as punching down. Trump was born into wealth and sits in one of the most powerful positions in the world, and regularly uses his platform to attack the most marginalized groups. @alice@lgbtqia.space mostly post messages of affirmation and support, with an occasional post punching up. (Also lock picking posts. Those a cool too!)

@futurebird@sauropods.win if 100 x smaller, will I be in the wild, a populated area, or in a house/building. Do I get to choose?

@peter@social.linss.com @alice@lgbtqia.space I think a lot of LGBTQIA folk wont feel safe around cishet folk until they have seen consistent ally action from them. They have seen too many self proclaimed "supportive allies" turn around and show that their access to a fast food chicken sandwich, or their fandom of a fantasy book/movie series is more important to them then their allyship. The "supportive ally and nothing else" gesture isn't going to carry much weight on it's own. Just wear the damn rainbow patch without worrying about its affect on your romantic prospects, and tell them their shirt/dress/shoes (whatever) looks fabulous on them.
