Took advantage of a nice soaked garden bed post-thunderstorm to get the okra and snake melon (aka Armenian Cucumber) planted! #gardening
Good news! Thanks to a tip I learned from Seventeen back in the day, I have decided I don't need to re-cut the Bella Super White fabric.
You see, you can whiten up the appearance of yellowing teeth by wearing a cool-toned lipstick. So I've put the warmer white with the cooler pink and the cooler white with the warmer pink. Now they're nearly indistinguishable! Just have to follow that for the rest of the quilt. #quilting #effikaExplodingHeartQuilt
I saw talk of menstrual cups earlier (re: petroleum & downstream plastic issues) and wanted to share the Jalie Sarah period underwear and reusable pads pattern, available as both paper and PDF in a wide range of sizes. I've made both. They're quick to assemble and use scraps! (In fact, I ought to make more with some scraps I found. ) #sewing

Signet marigold & cosmos seeds planted, as well as soil for the okra planter (more to be added later this week). And some extra cages trying to keep the squirrels out.
Shout-out to the Igloo Ice Cube 60qt cooler on wheels, the real MVP. It helps me haul soil, is an acceptable cooler, and makes a great moveable table (indoors or out) when cleaned up.

For May Day, the plant that was the first to resist glyphosate!
All the blocks are cut and the binding ready for #effikaExplodingHeartQuilt! Next I should dig the sheet I want to use for backing out of storage and make sure it's in good shape. That way I have time to find a replacement while I assemble the rows. #quilting
I guess I'd better wait to plant my okra and cucumber
(it won't get below 40F but my flowers and the basil do not like anything below 50F)

Recently I got a new adjustable desk at my office, replacing the adjustable keyboard tray I've been using. The comments have been great:
When sitting: I didn't know they even went that low! That's low enough for a kid! (I am the height of the average 11 year old so that tracks)
When standing: Is that really your standing desk height? That's where mine is when I sit!
I've been the same height for over 30 years now. You'd think people would be used to me by now!

@ai6yr speaking of zippers, I put two-way zippers on all my jackets now. It's really convenient when I'm out running or walking and want to keep my jacket on my shoulders/chest without the wind blowing the rest of it away.

At one point he asked where I got the pattern, if it was authentic, etc... I said, "Well, you need about 3x as much fabric for me to make that Kinsale pattern you liked out of Folkwear, which is authentic, so you are getting the one I have enough fabric for. It was made as a dress-up cape for her daughter. So it's 'authentic' in that it was made by a mother to meet a child's need, which I am pretty sure is how they did things in medieval/renaissance times too."

Google glitched the picture I took of the #quilting design wall tonight but honestly it looks cooler now. (Flannel sheet, buttonholes, nails along the ceiling.)
I do need to hang a camping lantern or, maybe when I am done with this project, finally fix the hallway overhead lighting. It gets pretty dark at the end of the hallway.

Probably get your shingles shots because it looks like those might be next (many doctors will authorize them under 50 years if you ask, because who the heck wants shingles, even if you're not immunocompromised)

@adventure_tense they're Birdie's raised beds! I like them because they should last a lot longer than wood in my area, and are light enough that I can move them around easily to figure out the best spot. (Well, until I fill them with soil!) The 30" tall ones are my favorite (no bending over to garden), but the new one is 15". My okra got so tall I had to get a ladder last year!
