@CatherineBabault I love these! The other day I was fortunate to catch a couple just finishing where I often find them in Spring. So full of character for the camera!

@That_One_Guy@mastodon.world and then: will they stay, or just eat and leave!

@brian_gettler it's an excellent read. I think back on it often. You might be interested to check out also Rebecca Campbell's recent short stories collection, The Other Shore. @StelliformPress

@mcc@mastodon.social welcome to Canada, where we have a tradition and an appreciation for satire that helps to address fake news.

@bookgaga absolutely. Life is short and the stack is tall. I use a DNF -- did not finish -- tag in Storygraph to help me remember.

@aarontay thanks Aaron, for a really helpful and detailed articulation of these factors, in considering teaching and technical approaches for librarians.

@mcc@mastodon.social also, oops, disambiguation may be useful: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beaverton https://www.canadashistory.ca/archive https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada%27s_History

@wiredfire@mstdn.social @jessamyn@glammr.us @ernie@writing.exchange iirc there was also at least one case of a library reporting that they had this strange form of vandalism occur, where a name would be found on the tp verso. That would seem not very well thought through.

@djfiander I am always trying to understand why I can't finish that, or anything by that author.

@wiredfire@mstdn.social @jessamyn@glammr.us @ernie@writing.exchange I remember some mystification and discussion about names on the tp verso when examples of these started surfacing as discards. There were other apps that worked the same way. https://www.adweek.com/galleycat/take-a-shelfie-to-get-a-free-ebook-version-of-any-print-book-you-own
