It’s disturbing that lists.gnu.org throws an “access forbidden” to Tor users. We expect that kind of treatment of privacy-hostile agencies, not a GNU project.
They may or may not have a good reason for blocking #Tor, but it’s the manner in which they block us that is off.
A 403 error message need not be a rude and undignified “access forbidden”. It could respect our #dignity, and say something like “we’re sorry we cannot give Tor users access because we are under attack from Tor”.
A #GNU project should set a good example of conduct.
I love nerdy stuff with good UX, and Signal has it.
Signal is certainly not nerdy. It is a dumbed down option for convenience zombies, not nerds. Nerds are smart enough to avoid centralization.
Dumbing down the population is really a bad idea. 30 yrs ago was more advanced progress than now. It’s a step back to expose people to PRISM corps and push an exclusive centralized service because we gave up on empowering people with knowledge. An average brain can handle asymetric cryptosystems. Signal just cators for the mentally lazy and keeps the population dumb.
