• service ontario had no lineup and processed the plate transfer in under 15 minutes.
• I can now get myself to work tomorrow without stressing over rentals or repairs.

• gave up on waiting for a plumber; decided to replace corroded sink drain myself and it's going well so far

• came up with a new cat mural design that is way more fun than what i have now.

• knowing when to call in the professionals: my sink repair was going great until i realized the overspill drain had disintegrated, that it could not be patched, and that the entire sink needed replacing

• spray-painting a cat mural, just for fun

• cooking dinner with my daughter, making berber-spiced lentils, and a curried veggie stew and having it all turn out super tasty

• navigating a rough gravel road, trying a new path, then seeing 8 leopard frogs, 3 fuzzy black-and-red caterpillars, 2 praying mantises, 2 dogs, hunters with shotguns, fungus growing on the underside of overhead branches, people fishing on boats, a couple lunching by the water, a few butterflies, lots of bees and crickets & pausing to eat some sweet firm apples along the way

• having photos to revisit such a fortunate day

• gas pump attendant alerts us to a flat tire that we had somehow not noticed

• attendant also provides coinage for their nearby air pump, to attempt to reinflate the tire

• the tire held the air, the leak was slow, and we were able to drive it to our mechanic, who finds a nail, a broken seal, and a leaky valve that he fixes the same day, despite his super busy schedule

• car breaking down close to a mechanic
• having friends nearby who can drive me while the car gets repaired
• (bonus) making enough money the previous week to pay for said repairs

• the orange haze inspired me to paint. I am usually pretty good at doing colour separations in my head, but I could not capture the oddly saturated glow. good challenge!
• hot sauna, best thing in the world to drive away intrusive thoughts, imo
• really cold water after said sauna is refreshing to the soul, and invigorating to the heart

• thrilled to witness international summer reggae festivals live on youtube

• moved to see friends, families, and communities supporting each other through grief today

• cleaned whole tilapia, and learned to not do that ever again; it was surprisingly difficult to cut, and felt almost disrespectfully messy.

• grand entry at the powwow, always a moving experience, and the weather was perfect

• roadside farm stand with an amazing variety of gourds
