I work in #tech on the help desk. I'm anti-crypto, anti-techbro and hate software bloat. I prefer command line solutions. Really into #selfhosting as well.
Posts usually lighter in tone. I'm Canadian, so any political posts if any will lean more towards those than bad orange man ones. Those are already 70% of the posts on social media.

@printr @Strandjunker Pointing out their hypocrisy only leads to one of the following: (a) complete radio silence (b) them doubling down (c) some red herring that doesn't address it. For them it's not about truth, never has been, it's about dominance and "owning the Libs."

The idea to try to do so never ever occurred to me. This is a great tip.

@owl@gts.u8.is @rtyler@hacky.town It's definitely low hanging fruit which I know AI scrapers will do their damndest to get around. It never occurred to me to to return a payment required message, that obviously is a much better (and funnier) solution.

@marioguzman@mastodon.social I'm in my forties and never got onto the Spotify wagon. Get your music in FLAC, and encode to AAC and listen locally via your phone or MPD on Linux of something. It's a little work but you actually own the music this way. Buy CDs (not even going to get into the whole vinyl or god forbid cassette, or other retro formats discussion).

@xgranade@wandering.shop I'm always surprised to find out Instagram is still a thing, years and years after I dumped it for all the obvious reasons (f*ck Meta).
