Good morning from a cold but dry, bright Tokyo. Doing the laundry then heading out for a little walk and to do the banking. Late afternoon, heading out with eldest son to do some food shopping. Family Christmas lunch tomorrow.

First three photos, shot Saturday night, from the new/old Sony DSCF-828.
Been 19 years since I last took a photo with one of these cameras.
It also has a night vision mode, shooting in green infra-red goggles sort of colour. But, with a powerful magnet, you can move the pass through filter and shoot in full spectrum IR. Non-lethal hack. Turn off and on and you're back in action with normal photos. Will test that out again this week.
First sunrise of the year out at Hasaki, Ibaraki. Not a big show with the sun. But always an amazing spot here and the sky was just perfect. Drove out there from home around 4am. We went Ryufukuji Temple afterwards, which is in a lovely secluded spot in the countryside not far from Hasaki.

Good morning from a sunny & cold Tokyo. First day back at work for most people here today. I've been on and off with work throughout the holidays. But, back at it with full-on energy from today. Very much looking forward to a full and adventurous year.

Bought one of these the Christmas it came out. 2003. In Tokyo. Shot it to death. Best bridge camera I ever owned. The CCD sensor in it was unparalleled for its time. Great lens.
Found one on Saturday, in Sanwa Camera in Ebisu. It looks unused. So, 22 years later, it’s once again my Xmas present to myself.
Couple of tiny issues with it but not enough for me to return it within the week period I have to evaluate it.
Macro shooting is amazing.
