"Rather than continuing to negotiate, SAG-AFTRA has put us on a course that will deepen the financial hardship for thousands who depend on the industry for their livelihoods" has some real "look what you made me do" energy to it.

@robin @slightlyoff @Edent If I read Alex's point correctly, it's more along the lines of: if the Chrome team wanted to engage in a bad-faith effort to disempower non-browser-makers, they'd just say "fuck it," abandon W3C participation altogether, and implement what they want in Chrome, which has enough market share to unilaterally create de facto standards.

@robin @slightlyoff @Edent Oh, yeah, I typed, edited, and re-edited some very pointed words about WHATWG as a follow-up. And then I thought better of it and deleted them.

@copiesofcopies@social.coop A fair point, but it also shows up low in lists based on PR count rather than LOC. I do suspect it might be underrepresented because OSS projects are going to bias towards languages that people want to use for hobby projects, while Elixir is optimized for some very specific solution spaces that will turn up more frequently in production than hobbies. I’m just surprised because I’ve heard far less buzz than I would expect if adoption is spiking.
I'm in the middle of a job search, and one of the things that I'm finding surprising this time around are the number of companies mentioning Elixir as part of their tech stack. I'm not seeing it very high on things like lists of languages used in Github commits, so I'm curious if this is just an odd coincidence of who I'm talking to, or if there's been an industry-wide uptick in Elixir use for large-scale production environments.

FWIW, I’m a lot more active on Bluesky, where you can find me at abr.bsky.social.
@wstone@mas.to Awesome! Thanks!
@wstone@mas.to Thanks! I love the additional browser support, and the ability to open links directly in Zoom is a great improvement. I do have one question -- is the ability to copy the URL to the clipboard gone, or am I just not finding its new home?
@fugueish@infosec.exchange My nickles make me sad.

@mjg59@mastodon.social I've managed to find about 8% of the people I follow on Twitter over here, and that number keeps going up. Nearly all have followed back. I'm astonished at how much of the social graph I've managed to import so quickly.
