mastodon 4.6.0-alpha.7+chuckya+oomfiesocHey! I'm Zak. A casual gamer, musician / writer & overall nerd from the Midwest, USA! ☕ 👋🏻
Using this platform as a micro-blog of sorts. Just posting general thoughts about various hobbies & interests - keeping things light-hearted.
Non-judgmental and just here to vibe, really. Mainly posting about tech, video games and a variety of music.
Hope you're doing well! 🤍🖤
#introduction - Heya! :blobcatcoffee:
I'm Zak. I'm 23, and go by they/them pronouns. A casual gamer, photographer and musician from the Midwest, USA!
Simply trying to vibe, here. Posting about various interests - expect lots of Linux & Video Games, as well as a fair bit of my photography.
Nice to meet you! Hope to see ya around. <3
Tried Debian Unstable, but ultimately decided to rollback to Debian 13 & just use a backported kernel & NVIDIA Drivers from the CUDA repo, instead.
I don't really need any new desktop environment, at the moment & flatpak provides my updated software needs just fine.
I'm happy to be someone who can just enjoy little things & not worry so heavily about the grand-scheme, at least, all the time, y'know?
Not easily made upset anymore & I can just vibe. I'm getting older, aren't I? Aha.
Listening to Nintendo music from my childhood & just reminiscing on the past.
Just happy to be able to enjoy this stuff, again. There was a long time I had to avoid it, it all simply hurt too much.
Nowadays, though? Pure comfort & happy nostalgia. It's so nice. :blobfoxcomfy: 🎮
Y'all know those custom Windows versions, old-school, that are hella customized & weird?
The weirdest kinda rad...
Was super nervous to cut my hair - I've had long hair almost my entire life.
Made me super nervous, when it was time, but we're a few weeks in now & I couldn't be happier.
I feel cleaner & look nicer. I'm proud of my appearance for the first time in my life.
Still kept the beard, though, aha!
After enough experimenting & having now run Debian for a number of weeks, this is where I'm staying, 100%.
Least issues, works great & is still configurable for my needs without much change.
VERY glad to finally settle down on a distro. My days of distro-hopping are over.
