@davewalker@mastodon.social People don't live in fear because of their skin color, they live in fear because of poverty, ideology, instability. welcoming them is a nice thing to do. But it is not a solution. The solution is to remove the fear they are fleeing from.
Oversimplifying a complex problem and then throwing a simple solution to it never works. and the opposite of a radical, oversimplified idea (closing borders) is still a radical oversimplified idea.
My citroën AX GT Volcane back in 2003. It was already 12 years old then and a bit rusty and squeaky. But still a great little hot hatch.

Today this map scares me more than ever.
This #FreecadFriday i was looking at a Makerworld contest for making Book Nooks. And then i tought, why not make a cool steampunk style, expanding one. with gears that actually work. Still a work in progress but i like it so far.
it's hollyday season so on #FreeCADFriday this time something useless and fun, as i'm learning how to work with the gears tool. A 3487,5:1 reducion desktoy. perfect for those boring teams meetings next year.

The child murdering was beyond horrible, and the fact that the masses can be manipulated with an obvious lie so easy is very disturbing and a sign of a deeper problem IMO. I'm following the politics in the UK with great intrest since Brexit but i must admit that i can't grasp it anymore, it's like politics lost their grip on everything over there. i interpreted your drawing as a critisism on American (republican) politics by the way.
