Uh oh. Seems the vmstio instance is going to shut down shortly. Two weeks to pack up shop and find a new home. I’d rather not end up on one of the big ones because I dig the “slow” local timeline and niche collection of folks. But maybe there is stability there?

A guy gave me numbers “YTD” which were way too high. So I clarified and he rephrased as “grand total YTD.”
With the added context I understand he’s trying to convey a cumulative multiyear number. So I’m good.
Someone should explain to him YTD/year to date means current year.
Not my responsibility. God speed, fella.

Closed all the windows and turned on the AC. It's only going to get hotter today, so my rationale is might as well use some of the power we're generating to make it comfortable. We're +30% generation to use this period anyway. Might as well use it vs, as @billinkc@beige.party put it, sell a kWh to the utility for 2 cents only to have them charge the neighbor 14.

We scored the only flat of prairie dropseed that existed at the entire multi-vendor event.
Now we just have to find butterfly milkweed, Asclepias tuberosa. Word on the street is it’s hard to come by given a late frost. Ho-hum.

Honestly quite surprised at how little press the upcoming medicaid cliff is getting. Like, republicans included DEEP cuts to Medicaid in their big dumb bill. But set them to go live AFTER the midterm election. How is this not on billboards and commercials? Medicaid, FWIW, is huge in Red States.

I found the registration site. They moved it to... Shopify! You "purchase" the registration for free on a shopify site. YUCK!
Years ago, Apple added a feature where you could ask Siri to remind you of things when you arrive at a location. I have been using it to “remind me of so-and-so when I get home” a lot lately.
I have to wonder how many other super convenient or helpful things are available to me that I don’t use or have forgotten about.

Would you believe me if I told you despite being opted-in automatically, opting out almost always requires that you fill out a paper form, find a stamp and mail it to them and hope they don't pretend it was "lost in the mail?"
The only reason we can even opt-out is because of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) of 1999. Which the industry lost their $hit over, because "over regulation." It's not all good, though. GLBA killed key provisions of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933, which prohibited banks and insurance companies from operating as combined entities.

I read a whole thing last night on Reddit about how #Missouri hunters are mad at our conservation department over mandatory CWD sampling. Our state has done an EXCELLENT job with chronic wasting disease tracking and education. But I guess some nutjobs still exist.
ANYWAY *because they are also ignorant on how things actually work* they are telling people to vote against question 1 which reauthorizes the fraction-of-a-cent sales tax that goes to our DNR. Here in MO that's state parks, air, water and soil. TOTALLY different departments. // MDC is protected through constitutional amendment.
