@earth_patches@app.wafrn.net The mosquito bug didn't have to be fixed, if I'm being completely honest

@jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net wtf is this timeline

@iamada@tech.lgbt I wonder for how many people this is how they realize that Tom Scott is uploading again

@jellyfish_umbrella@tech.lgbt @iamada@tech.lgbt I have to admit, my knowledge of ohilosophers is quite limited and I hadn't heard of Zhuangzi before today. He does seem like a good candidate indeed!

@iamada@tech.lgbt And bought (I was in need of a new cosy game, and this does indeed look cute and cozy enough)

@emmy@transfem.social May I present to you: Scream™️. With its outstanding vocal component, Scream™️ provides additional capacity for expelling frustrations and worries. The directional aspect of Scream™️ even allows you to focus these on a person, a group, or just existence in general. Call now and get a patented Scream™️ Muffler Device (which is totally not a pillow) to limit the audible range of your Scream™️ without diminishing the vocal component!

@emmy@transfem.social @navi@social.vlhl.dev Debian Almquist Slow Hell?

@merlin@toot.kif.rocks Not really,here in the Netherlands. I mean, the Dutch Wikipedia page references it's German usage most of all. Also, the Dutch name is "Lievevrouwebedstro" (a six syllable word that translates to "our lady bed straw", referring to legends around the herb and Jesus' mum).

@iamada@tech.lgbt Fucking hell Can't say I'm too surprised by Zuck & cronies, but fucking hell.

@miona@toot.lgbt nat asfalt lijkt wel de lievelingsplek van die beestjes

@h5e@tech.lgbt boom!

@TicklishHoneyBee@twoot.site I think no? Though it's complicated indeed. Though I might be also confusing myself with the Sphere of Influence

@Bwee@meow.social What a lovely pair! :neocat_heart_eyes:

@iamada@tech.lgbt Something I need to watch, apparently

@stasdigi@social.overheid.nl Heeft de Nederlandse overheid een plan klaarliggen voor als de VS vindt dat ze Nederland stom vinden en we van Microsoft worden afgesloten?

@iamada@tech.lgbt We demand… nay… very politely request a picture!

@maaikees@sw-development-is.social You look amazing in these pictures! Awesome how they show something about yourself that you're so happy about

@iamada@tech.lgbt Yeah, very relatable. There is a reason I have several bags of soup in my pantry, and a reason why I have about a hundred containers from delivered chinese food. When I do cook I then turn it into a large batch, so I have three or four days of leftovers (I think kids these days call that "meal prep", though that sounds way more advanced than my method of "I don't want to measure out 1 portion of rice and half a bell pepper when I can just chuck it all in a big pan and freeze the leftovers").

@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt It seems the issue is with engines, it says nothing about battery powered chainsaws

@faithisleaping@anarres.family That sounds… intriguing. I might have just ordered a copy to check it out (and yes, I do still have my GBC)

I think it might be fun to talk about my home infra set-up, since I took some time over the weekend setting it up. For sharing large amounts of data, I turned one old PC into a NAS. It's not ideal, as it's quite small and the motherboard only has 4 SATA connectors (and it was from before NVME was really a thing so the SSD takes up one of them), but it's quiet and small enough to have running in the living room (next to my router). But for now I'm figuring that 2TB of storage (mirrored, just in case) should be fine anyway. It's not the fastest, but it's workable (and great price:performance ratio, given that it's all old parts I got given except for the network cable). It's running openmediavault, which is so far pretty painless and easy to use. A different old PC (and this one's ancient, I built it in 2010) I've turned into an ingest station. It has all the SATA ports and hosts a card reader and two optical drives, which I'll be using to rip my CDs to OGG (and who knows, maybe even the few blu-rays I have). Theoretically this one would have enough space to also host all the drives I could ever want for use in the NAS, but since it's an ancient power-hungry and noisy beast (AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition) I don't want to have it running in my living room (and running cables elsewhere is not really an option). It now runs Linux Lite (which I'm not completely sold about, I could maybe switch to Lubuntu). I am figuring this out as I go along, so there might be updates and I'm open to suggestions!

@miona@toot.lgbt Exciting! Good luck!

@h5e@tech.lgbt Job Jam?

@iamada@tech.lgbt Nah, Confucius was way too uptight and "decent". This is more likely Diogenes (who had absolutely no shame).

@h5e@tech.lgbt

@marlies@tacobelllabs.net The servers might be literally on fire. Article in Dutch: https://nos.nl/artikel/2613443-enorme-rookpluimen-boven-almere-door-grote-brand-in-datacenter Not that it helps you one bit right now. Take care :hugeline:

@sashag@anarres.family Ich habe das nicht so erfahren, und ich war sogar zweimal in einem Hostel (einmal in Budapest und einmal in Prag). Aber, vielleicht hat es etwas zu tun mit "luxus" aussehen?

@smveerman@zug.network It certainly is!

@smveerman@zug.network It's honestly not the worst football song I've heard, but I get that it easily gets overplayed.

@smveerman@zug.network Couldn't decide between line 11 and line 1?

@bureaucrhaj@blahaj.social KeePassXC comes to mind! Its logo is also green 🟢

@iamada@tech.lgbt Yesss!

@iamada@tech.lgbt Review after watching: eh, it's not a great video. It's an interesting topic, has some good bits, but also a rough "I did some research, but then I stopped, so idk" vibe. Also, it plays fast and loose with source material, including a clip where someone dubbed a swear word in, without context.

@goog@gabboman.xyz doe doe?

@iamada@tech.lgbt Added to wishlist!

@iamada@tech.lgbt Alphabet slop?

@faithisleaping@anarres.family I read it was set in the fourth season, was it already dwindling down by then? Granted, season 4 is not my favorite, but it wasn't that bad… right?

@iamada@tech.lgbt I was going to argue about the mountains, as the south of Limburg has some quite tiring elevation, but then I remembered you're from a country whose second-largest city is literally named "Bergen". I will concede here (despite of how proud I am of the climbs I did with only minor swearing).

So, regarding the trans girl stereotypes, I seem to fit quite a few: ✅ Programmer ✅ Loves blåhaj ✅ Knee high socks ("programmer socks") ✅ Skirt go spinny ✅ Drinks Monster energy (strawberry dreams, haven't tried original but didn't hear great reviews) Any other stereotypes I should try out to see how they fit?

@sashag@anarres.family "Luxus" oder "billig", das Ziel ist dasselbe: so viel gefüllte Betten wie möglich, ohne daß es zu viel kostet

@faithisleaping@anarres.family It arrived! So far, gameplay wise, I'm unimpressed. I had to look up a guide for how to even play the game (though it came without the box or booklet, which I assume would mention it) and the "load game" option is just to enter a password for the next level (which, okay, keeps the game cheaper to produce as it doesn't need a battery for the memory, but still: it feels very 80s for a game releasedin 2000). I'm still gonna play it though :3
