Still have lettuce doing well in the greenhouse! Completely organically with no additions of anything to keep competition away & no bugs etc either!
Also grown from my own seeds I saved from an earlier lot this year

Chickweed (stellaria media) growing very well in a pot in my garden. Self planted- probably brought it over by accident with some farm / scrub soil I collected.
Edible & makes nice wild salad, especially in egg sandwiches

Thats interesting. I'm just talking about our local population so maybe not representative, which is great if they'e both doing well overall 🥳🥳
Don't forget to put lifesaving water out for insects, birds & other critters in the drought

The salad seedlings are doing well!
Good germination rate!
100% homegrown mixed salad seeds collected & sorted by myself, in small spaces of time.
Grown in an old wooden draw, filled with a mix of ordinary garden soil & peat free compost.
Israel is a major supplier of commercial seeds. Another reason to buy less of those!

Beautiful golden rod, rescued from someone elses garden overspill.
I've seen so many different types of insects on here- though theres none in the photo
First tomatoes! On a plant I swopped for something
Today we have plenty of rain!!
Weird for this to be a celebration in the uk.
Now thinking about washing my car for the first time this summer. Washing our cars in the rain not only saves loads of water, saves time bothering to wash the bubbles off after and a tiny bit off our big phat water bills

Good for red kites but bad for buzzards :-/. Buzzard numbers have visibly declined significantly as red kite numbers have increased because of food competition

They cause loads of rubbish & wildfires. Plus most charcoal isn't made very ethically. So they shouldn't be a thing 🙄
