#til that #python Path has
a method called `home` which returns a new path object representing the user’s home directory (as returned by os.path.expanduser() with ~ construct). If the home directory can’t be resolved, `RuntimeError` is raised.

learn more about it at
https://docs.python.org/3/library/pathlib.html#pathlib.Path.home

@codingjoe@fosstodon.org when i was a team lead, i made it very clear for the team and the owners that we will be spending time on open source, so either give the money or the time, sometimes it was money, sometimes bug fixes or community work, also when hiring although very far and few of them, i was always looking for talent who had an interest in open source, it saddens me to say we where not using Django so none of it made it there, but for other frameworks we have landed many patches and closed many issues, by sheer will power 😅. P. S: Management doesn't really see the point but you have to convince them somehow.

@elebertus@eigenmagic.net you can get a better idea at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Reference/Elements the issue with `div` is its over used to give semantic meaning while in reality it's designed to be a shell. ``` As a "pure" container, the
element does not inherently represent anything. Instead, it's used to group content so it can be easily styled using the class or id attributes, marking a section of a document as being written in a different language (using the lang attribute), and so on. The
element should be used only when no other semantic element (such as or ) is appropriate. ``` https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Reference/Elements/div#usage_notes

@codingjoe@fosstodon.org although I'm not a fan, publicity stunts/bragging does work in most cases, other wise we did everything in my power to quote in quote deliver value for the business, as an example when a project we needed to work with needed to handle very large files, instead of making that for the company only we submited a patch upstream to support object storage, another time we submitted a patch to make it support client side uploads, maybe we got lucky there, but if you really look into it there always a place that can be improved, this was interms of actual time and effort, on the money side every quator i woud pick a package/framework that we where using and made a report of how much time it was saving us, and depending on that we would make donations. in all honesty i think most CEO/Manager just don't know or don't have the time to figure out this for them selfs, but if you approach it the right way, they tent to see the value in it. personal take: what ever you do please don't go near the one core model, it's just good for marketing and has no benefit for opensource, there is too many companies/products taking advantage of the opensource label.
