Perhaps, regulating #SocialMedia access should be considered for the old rather than for the young? Would be legally more complicated though... #democracyhttps://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2026/apr/18/the-families-torn-apart-by-older-relatives-going-far-right

An article worth reading. Right wing politicians and parties may benefit from genuine dissatisfaction, but offer no solutions. At best, they just fail to keep their promises. At worst, they start a spiral of violence ending in decline and catastrophe. #democracy #Fascism #populism #rightwing #politics

Constantly changing leaders is a denial of reality. Nobody will come in and make milk and honey flow immediately without effort. We will have to accept inconvenient news, be prepared to compromise, and provide support to those, who need it most. #democracy

We are getting this wrong. We should earnestly discuss how we want to live and how we can get there, not personalities and strategies to win elections. If we want real solutions, we cannot just go for everyone who tells us what we want to hear. #politics #democracy

One of many examples, why things are not always as easy and straightforward as many like to think. Vitamin D3 causes different effects in different people as a consequence of genetic differences.

Replying to
@michaelmeckler@mastodonapp.uk Yes, the article is better than the headline, which even confirms that journalists know what they are doing. They use a misleading headline to receive clicks and attention. People, who do not read the article, will take away that alcoholic drinks can be healthy, something that we know is wrong. This contributes to a steady stream of misleading articles that perpetuate the idea that alcoholic beverages might health advantages. This is simply wrong. They do not. Alcohol is a neurotoxin. I do not want to ban anything. I do not want to tell what they are meant to do. However, this form of misinformation should stop. It is bad (and lazy) science communication and journalism.

No, it couldn't. This is a clickbait headline telling people what they like to hear, but that is not even supported by the article. Alcohol is never healthy. People can make their own choices, but should not fool themselves. Poor #sciencecommunication from a source that should know better. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvglqw709k1o

@tinkel@mastodon.social I tend to think that the possibilities are incredible. We are just not using them wisely. Never before has it been possible to connect seamlessly in such a way throughout the world, to get to know and to learn each other. It is a pity that we seem to use these unprecedented opportunities only in a divisive way to yell at and alienate each other. Instead of widening our horizon, we seem to be drawn to join even more narrow-mindedly tribes than we could have done in the past, when we could only interact with the people surrounding us...

For example, the findings of this systematic review do "not support causal associations between aluminium adjuvanted vaccines and serious or long term health outcomes". #adjuvants #vaccine #vaccination #aluminium
