@tinygirl @scottrut You've got to remember something. there's an attitude circulating about out there that if it's free, the blind shouldn't expect the usual things such as privacy, quality, or any positive traits at all. said attitude seems to say "If it's free, expect crap, as only if you've got a money tree in your back yard are you to be taken seriously." Be My Eyes is free, and with that attitude circulating, I'm not at all surprised that that sort of thing's going on.

@cub80_appleby@mastodon.stickbear.me @alpuzz@mastodon.social From what I'm gathering from a friend of mine, in the UK, if you got an apple ID after a certain time, you have to proove your age to be able to update to a new iOS, which makes no sense at all to me.

@cub80_appleby@mastodon.stickbear.me @alpuzz@mastodon.social This friend of mine can still get app updates, but can't update to a new iOS without a driver's license or photo ID, and I personally know how hard those are to get a decent photo of using an iPhone's camera. Hell, most of the time I can't even take a decent selfee. And as for face ID, forget it. I can't even get that set up, and if I could, I'd never be able to use it, seeing how I can never get myself centered in the camera's field of vision.
