@domi I completely forgot I bought RAM for sakamoto at some point xD happy late birthday sakamoto <3

@4caddit that assumes there was good in his body

@kuriko@wetdry.world oh, then whatever is cheaper lol

@kuriko@wetdry.world one is in Terfland, the other one is in EU, the choice is obvious

@toroidalcore@masto.hackers.town neither of these two options! it clearly has IPv6 websites but the tech support people lie to my face that they don't have it

@noybeu@mastodon.social The only way for users to turn it off is to find the opt-out function in a sub-menu of the browser’s settings. Where? Preferably, what do I need to switch in about:config, so I don’t need to deal with a localisation?

As someone who laughs on Manjaro on daily, I'm super hopeful for this strike to be successful https://forum.manjaro.org/t/manjaro-2-0-manifesto/

I wish I wasn't so fragile

@ww@xyzzy.link there's no 'sometimes' option

Here's that character in action.

@yassie_j@donotsta.re patting without looking at you is difficult!

@asie since everything Microsoft is now slop, every single game released past a certain threshold should tag themselves as such

Nothing as satisfying as seeing someone failed the ID check at shop

@elly@donotsta.re I want the black one at some point purely because the concept is goofy (can you transplant 2009 mb to 2008 chassis? that would rule)

GOTTA GO FAST

you know a Warhammer Fantasy session was good if it makes you think 'damn, polytheism makes sense'

@iro_miya@mk.absturztau.be your body runs Java? I can't sleep with you

@beandreams This is not a Windows palette, it’s the default EGA palette. Every single program released since October 1984 (which is before Windows was even released) could use them. You associate Windows NT 3.1, NT 3.5x, NT 4.0, 95, 98 with specifically the combination of teal and gray because Microsoft: didn’t change it (they know how to, Windows XP boot screen changes the default palette, but it covers the most cases)used gray for interface background since buttons were usually gray, still are in elevators for example. It was also the background colour in 3.1 as @domi ‘s thumbnail showschose the colour that makes most sense from dark ones or top row (black on black won’t work, red is error, green is success, yellow is just ugly, blue is already in blue screen, purple is a bit aggressive, gray is what they changed from) Thus, you get a desktop that’s just teal and gray and hundreds of millions of people have seen it. Windows 3.1 doesn’t use this teal anywhere. The closest thing is boot screen, which is #3fa0c7 as opposed to #0aa and it displays only for a few seconds. If you were to travel back in time to 1994 and ask a random computer user with a colour monitor what colours are in Windows 3.1, their answer would be black and white, red, green, yellow and blue because of the Windows logo, gray, maybe they’d remember pink by some miracle and that’s it. If they looked at a teal-gray ribbon like that, there’s no way in hell they’d say ‘oh, it’s a Windows ribbon!’ because it doesn’t make any sense. That association only started because people were using 95 and 98 especially.

My ThinkPad X41 was stuck on 50 Hz because IBM in its infinite wisdom made it so but only on non-Tablet version. I read someone on thinkpads.com flashing the Tablet BIOS to make it work and… it worked? I did the same and it works? what the hell???

wondering if I'll feel any pride this June

Did you know Device Manager is an XML file?

we've just got an email that the outage ended we had 1 minute of downtime that we only noticed in log xD

wtf he did something else than developing Task Manager and scamming people @itsfoss@mastodon.social

you'll never guess what Android fork of Telegram I used until today (https://t.me/NekoUpdates/531)

can't believe it's 250 years

also heartbreaking: there's a Wii character (as in, the word Wii) in the browser font at U+E067

Can the new settings in #Firefox have more submenus required to get to the proxy settings? I don't think two is enough.

I shouldn't need to use a search engine to do that, I shouldn't need to ever use search in settings to begin with. In old settings (still accessible for now, about:config → browser.settings-redesign.enabled = false) I just had to scroll to the bottom.

I (28F) don't let my gf (21F) bite me like ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul because ouchie, AITA?

@attanix@gts.crawlcast.one where stable-backports is newer than previous version of Fedora (current is 43), there's nothing weird here

@mstar@mk.absturztau.be hope it’s okay to just link Wikipedia

@inderix and BSD? okay :neocat_macos_finder:

fun fact: @_r@donotsta.re is very nice
