Most of the things we need to be most fully alive never come in busyness. They grow in rest.

One reason that cats are happier than people is that they have no newspapers.

Broken record back porch pic. I love these cooler nights.

77 emojis and 45 hashtags in a single post seems a bit much, but maybe that’s just me 🤷♀️

I’m terrible with reading book series, as far as one book right after the other, yet here is book two in Karon’s Mitford series (finished the first one about an hour ago). #bookstodon

I will never hate a rainy day.
Expectation is low, while rest and relaxation is high. I don’t become bored. I walk in the rain, so I don’t feel slighted in that realm and when I get home, I don’t feel like I need to do something else to fill my day so it feels more productive, the work week brings all that on its own. Parking it with a blanket and a book, in my case, 2 books today, is all that’s needed & wanted.

Vacations are a lot of things.
They are not being on a schedule. Sipping coffee with nowhere to be. Staying up and sleeping in. No alarm clocks. Favorite foods and trying new things. Doing your favorite things. Laughter, & hopefully a lot of it. Spending time with favorite people & including yourself in that mix. If you’ve got these things, it doesn’t matter the weather or the location, it’s going to be a good time. #vacation

@mlanger@mastodon.world I think a lot of people are like that and I can see the draw, especially when you come across a series where all of the books are out.

What is the point of ‘feels like’ when it comes to the temperature? Just give me the degree, the ‘feels like’ is bogus and makes no difference. It’s, uh hot or cold. And feels like according to who, who has this job of temperature feelings? #temperature

@oldrawgabbit@mastodon.world A-freaking-men.
Random side note: There’s a Black Mirror episode where people rate every interaction you have. So if you greet someone in a friendly or not so friendly manner, you are given a star rating that floats and follows you everywhere. I’m not insinuating that you shouldn’t be kind, but rather that everything is constantly pulling for some type of information. I swear we are not far from this BS in real life and already there in some instances.

@setmeravelles@lgbtqia.space I’m not a big fantasy person, so if you aren’t either and you liked it, that makes me more interested. I love King and Straub and when I came across a vintage-y looking copy I grabbed it.

@setmeravelles@lgbtqia.space The Dark Tower series are the only thing of King’s works that I have never been able to get into.

@morrick@appdot.net Those fascinate me too, just wondering the different places and hands this book has been in.

@setmeravelles@lgbtqia.space I’ve got the Talisman on my shelf, a recent purchase, but haven’t read yet. Is it really good? Was wondering if it was more hype.
