@taylorlorenz@mastodon.social I love this app. When I tell other people about it they say the image it conjures up is massive, slow and extinct and that's not instantly appealing. You have to get to know this place. The exploration, the finding and discovering is what's so exciting. But it's not a shiny bauble.

@ZebKing I talk about it all the time too, especially when people ask me "where did you find out about that", but the onboarding process feels too intimidating. The ux/ui design is too plain or not enticing enough, even the name is off putting say my friends. I think Mastodon appeals to people who already are attracted to tech and/or to figuring things out. I love it here.

He swipes away every bit of hype and bullshit around the mythology of AI that Big Tech spreads. The truth he lays bare is almost too painful but in fact is exhilarating.
