@EMR I work in cognitive science) and I think that people who @glyph has (imo) very accurately described as vibesic will likely be at risk of developing actual dementia earlier and in larger numbers than the population who doesn't use (or uses responsibly) large language models. We'll likely see higher and earlier numbers of patients developing cognitive decline in the next decade of so

@lokjo Interesting. I was genuinely curious. I don't consider myself tech-savy but I've been using OsmAnd+ for years and I've never missed any features (and most important, I always get where I'm supposed to be). I do think it's weird that we all are trying to end Google's monopoly, but we can't agree to work on a single project

But that is my opinion, and I wanted to leave the door open for the possibility that someone thinks they use them responsibly. I do, however, know researchers in the fields of natural language processing who have been working with text generation via neural networks, and I can imagine that having to test or interact with an LLM at some point might be unavoidable for them. I guess that could count
