Saw a Github project a while ago with a single digit amount of Pull requests that had AI reviews, both overall and code-review and another AI reviewing those reviews.

Like, what?

I get it, often, especially these days, reading PR code can suck but you can't outsource the thinking part, you gotta read and comprehend the code itself to not turn a project into an unmaintainable slop-fest.

Might as well turn off PR's at that point if one can't be bothered.

@bagder@mastodon.social Curl at work handles our API requests to our CDN's on which IP's to blacklist from exceeding rate/usage limits, it downloads our periodic DNS backups, we keep the upstream edge servers up-to-date with it, without Curl, our company website would grind to a screeching halt. It's a phenomenal tool, thanks again for all your teams hard work on it.

@luc0x61@mastodon.uno I am no patent lawyer, obviously, thank humanity.

But by keeping it simple and strictly adhering to how ink-jet printers worked in those expired patents, all should be fine.

Of course that will not stop the printer lobby from potentially frivolous lawsuits from trying to sue that competition into the ground anyhow.

@NanoRaptor Glad when I switched the last bastion of Windows, my home desktop, to Fedora recently, I did so while doing a storage upgrade/expansion. Installing Fedora on #ZFS was a challenge, but thanks to ZFSBootMenu it worked after figuring stuff out, and thanks to syncoid/sanoid I now have incremental and full backups that get synced daily. Still have to find a solution for offsite part of the 3-2-1 rule that does not break the bank.

@bagder@mastodon.social It reminds a lot back when Google tried to shoehorn Google+ into every product of theirs, be that Gmail or YouTube. Microsoft tries so hard, every operating system component, every software suite, every app, every webinterface has this goddamn useless AI shit shoehorned in that I gotta hide, block or remove every time.

@alice@lgbtqia.space Why, why did humanity let such a tiny group of people at the top architect systems this way to let so many people suffer? *sob* Ya, I need a hug, don't we all need a hug. 🫂

@killyourfm I still visit the refuge of what once was the Facepunch forums do this day. I also set up Stoat for my friends if they want it, which they said they do, and because Stoat is receiving a "Voice v2" overhaul (and is thus inoperable on self-hosted according to my experience and understanding) I set up Jitsi which disconnects me from calls in a few minutes. Why is Voicechat for Open Source so hard, arghhh.

Tempted to re-install the ZFSBootMenu and Fedora but the log also hints at it being a hardware issue. AM4 has a never-ending series of issues around USB3 and PCI-E/NVMe I would love to get of this platform and move to AM5 but maybe at a time when the cost is not slopflated so much.

Managed to fix this by going with the scanner-based way of mounting instead of cache-based, such a weird issue. #ZFS

@luc0x61@mastodon.uno Aren't printers old enough that the original patents aren't valid anymore?
We have been suffering sucky printer for more than 2 decades, which means patents should all have expired.

And the potentially "patent-able" features printing from a network, over WiFi/Bluetooth and printing from mass-media have been possible for a long time as well, especially in office environments.
So all should be fine as well on that front.
