Question for the Fediverse. How does anyone have time to listen to podcasts? I am sure many are interesting and informative, but if I listened to all the podcasts from the people I follow, it would take 12 hours a day. I can skim through the transcript of a podcast in about 4 minutes. I don’t commute, so maybe that would be a good time for some people. I guess a poll is in order. Please boost for coverage.

Did I mention this is the “P” litter? All of their names will begin with the letter P. The letter is allocated based on the whelp date and time. The names will be chosen in a couple of weeks. The little outfits are cute, but thats not the point. They will be wearing capes in service and it is important to get them used to wearing things at an early age. #DogsOfMastodon #ServiceDogs

@heidilifeldman So true. We were just talking about this today. Guessing that 70% of the market is program trading. So they are all trying to front run how they think the actual people in the market will react to the news.
Since most of the Douglas Firs burned in the 2017 fire, we don’t get the Olive Sided Flycatcher showing up. The forest edges have reverted to chaparral, so in its place we get the Ash Throated Flycatcher which reliably appears around the first of May. #birding

@liferstate At this age they sleep a lot , especially after eating. They probably stayed in that formation for a good 5 minutes. In another week? Forget about it.
Seems to me that if gas hits $10 a gallon, every service station that has the electronic gas signs in the format #.## is screwed. Which is most of the ones in our area. Maybe buy stock in the company that makes those signs, as they will all need to be replaced. 😏

@czarbucks It’s all about microclimates in CA. We have had 30 inches of rain since October and should get another inch Sunday and Monday. Overall we are in pretty good shape, however living in the Chaparral, you sign up for weather extremes. The Sierra snowpack is in bad shape, so they may have some serious stuff to deal with once summer gets going. We spend a lot of time on how the property will deal with climate change, but weather events can humble you quickly :-). Hope your red flag weather goes off without incident.

@stevenray Surprisingly it’s not. They are getting big and need individual attention. We can’t provide that, and they need to go before they tear down the X pen 🤭. Besides we get our dining room back. We will have another batch this summer. It’s nice to have a short break.

@elizayer Great article. Takes me back to my heat transfer course years ago. In some places (Mongolia for instance) they use waste heat from power generation to heat apartment buildings. Got me thinking about what might be done with the waste heat from data centers.

@ai6yr @ieeespectrum It was a Covid project. The other Covid project was repurposing a garage door opener as a dumbwaiter to bring wine up to the kitchen from the wine cellar. No arduino in that one though.
