There’s a Darkness on the Edge of t’Moor. But it was Raphael’s cave obliging him to draw a card, the third winter card that ended it all. Had he got to play the card he intended it would have been a tie.

Another absorbing day in Rosenberg’s fields.

Tried out the P&P version of Dungeon Map Maker. Realised belatedly that I forgot I could place treasure in some rooms so it’s overall monster heavy. Surprisingly thinky and glad I decided to draw in Procreate so I could correct my many miscalculations.

@jmingtan@mastodon.social @lordsplodge@brettspiel.space I used TableTop Rescue and just gave them a stack of games for a modest return just to get them disappeared.

Really pleased with these Poker Dice from @louie@pdx.social
Great design and nice and chunky in the hand.

My first computer was an Apple IIe. I no longer have it, or much from that era but a few relics survive.

@boardgamebreakdown@mas.to All the Command and Colours games from GMT have masses of wooden blocks that require stickering before play. Always a fun task!
Remember to acknowledge your chicken overlords today.
Maybe if you can’t manage an Easter Egg Hunt you can go looking for Koroks instead?

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @jerk@brettspiel.space absolutely it’s a personal thing. Some games are inherently confrontational and that’s part of the fun there. You nailed it with “suck the fun out”, which is that variable hard to define dividing line which can be crossed in a variety of ways. As much a people problem as a game problem.
Replying to
@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @jerk@brettspiel.space when that is the only way to play then you understand that as part of the game. I have great delight in taking tricks in a trick taking game for instance, no mild way to play there.
It’s #FensterFreitag time already.

@ATaleofTwoMeeples I have similar issues when people play Carcassonne in a deliberately obstructive way, blocking off cities so they can’t be completed for instance. It’s perfectly legal but just feels shabby. We play competitively, trying to sneak in on cities and farms and get the majority, but popping a tile down as a blocker changes the vibe of the game for me.
Not exactly what you asked, but your post reminded me how different approaches to a game affect enjoyment and perception.

@iain@ohai.social it is a fun game. Didn't know they had collected the many little expansions, which were incredibly hard to get, into a big box edition.
@StevenLawsonPhotography@mastoart.social some excellent work in there. Thanks for creating this
Have had no broadband for 48 hours. While Virgin service was often spotty, total outages were rare. BT OpenReach service non existent. Zen Internet very helpful but totally at mercy of BT who CBA even turning up.

@BenRiceM@mastodon.social @brendonbigley@mastodon.social lol, my CarcBot submission that generates seamless tileable wallpapers using Carcassonne tiles got rejected because they didn’t understand what it did. Maybe there is an influx of new reviewers
