Hi!

Me: millennial white woman, creaky. I only boost images with alt text.

I like: cats, dogs, science, green spaces, urban wildlife, art by humans, and sleep. Sleep is so great.

Not friendly to: transphobia, queerphobia, racism, or Israel apologists.

Profile pic ID: the back of a screen printing template inked with teal and green shows a mug, spoon, and heart-shaped tea bag.

Header pic ID: a cute random cat is making eyeContact and wearing a pink surgical face mask, badly.

@futurebird@sauropods.win @carrideen@c18.masto.host Willy is top of my wish-to-date list after Krobus. It's so easy to make him happy, he just Likes Fish So Much. Plus a lot of the dateable characters are *way* too young for me. Krobus I would actually get down with. Who doesn't want to date Shadow Daddy?

@SnowshadowII I think one thing that makes the news especially detrimental is that it's no longer confined to morning and evening and papers like in olden times, it's a 24/7 intermittent and unpredictable thing. It seems like that article is giving tips for deliberately engaging with news, which is probably great, but I run into a lot of the "went online to post dog pictures, now seeing latest atrocities in Palestine and the live reporting of the fall of the US democracy" problem. Things that have really helped me on fedi are filtering out keywords and also that many people do CW for pol, USPol, etc. Other than having a social media curfew (I do), I'm not sure what else can be done about that kind of unintended contact with news. It would be one thing if my constantly being stoked with adrenaline improved any of these problems, but it sure does not.
