So I tried the audacity flatpak (after installing flatpak and deps from slackaroni @jloc0@mastodon.sdf.org ) but I couldn't actually save anything, only export it to .wav.
I deleted it and went through the whole rigmarole of building audacity and about 10 or so deps from sbo. Works well with the #guitar and the #katana

So I installed Katana Fx Floorboard from sourceforge. Couldn't build it as the source is a bit of a mess with Qt5/6 atm, but I'll ask the dev when he's got time to see if he can fix it. The pre-compiled version mostly works well though.

@dobbie003@fosstodon.org @jloc0@mastodon.sdf.org @thesaigoneer@social.linux.pizza I've always used BOSS pedals and they stood the test of time (part of the reason I went for the katana go), although the only pedal I've retained from my collection is an Ibanez tube Screamer. They are legendary. I've always had tube/valve amps and found myself using pedals less over the years but the screamer just added that touch of drive when needed.

@jloc0@mastodon.sdf.org @thesaigoneer@social.linux.pizza @dobbie003@fosstodon.org Yeah installed flatseal at the time and tried to fix up permissions, but the fact that it allowed me to export to my home doesn't forgive the fact that trying to save the project crashed audacity. The official audacity ships an app-image so IDK who built the flat-pak 🤷 I'm pretty happy with the slackbuild version anyway. IIRC there was 1 dep already in nwg-shell - webkit2gtk4 (dep of wxWidgets). The rest, for the record (and some deps of deps) - libsbsms, lv2, nanosvg, portaudio portmidi, portsmf, rapidjson, serd, sord, soundtouch, soxr and suil.

@thesaigoneer @jloc0 Well I have dank and noctalia on labwc, and I've already had 2 PRs accepted at noctalia. Labwc? Because I adopted it in 2021, the very early days. My biggest addition was adding gettext to labwc. I've also had various, albeit small, bugfixes and features added to labwc. I must agree that just 'slackpkg install dank' or 'slackpkg install noctalia' is the easiest and best way to install these shells out of all the distros. We use slackware-current BTW 😜

@bastardsheep well I'll try to be as generic as possible because road rules differ somewhat between NSW and QLD.

Take your time
Safety first.
Once you've left a bus stop don't be tempted to open the door for the late comer. You are already running late and possibly waiting for a green light. Refer to point 2. Sometimes you need to be a bastard, just for everyone's safety.
Try not to worry about running late. Enjoy the drive.
Join the Union!
