#weekofpatching

wrote a conclusion on my patch log for #weekOfPatching , and shared a few preview images of patches i didn't have time to fully document within the context of the challenge! https://palomakop.tv/notes/patch-log/#conclusions

I've got some not very fun stuff going on this week, so I decided that I had to force myself to do something fun to balance out the bad. So here's my first patch for #WeekOfPatching. It's a simple Bitwig Grid patch I threw together in 30 minutes. I wanted to do some percussive FM stuff to get me started.

Here's a screenshot of my first #WeekOfPatching patch, in case it doesn't show properly in the audio player. My attempt at an explanation is in the alt text.

I had other plans for day 3 of #WeekOfPatching, but not enough time. So just a quick VCVRack patch today. Not my most interesting work, but maybe it will work with something else when I edit everything together.

A bit of electronic noise for today's #WeekOfPatching patch. The patch is simple: I ran the Crazy Chicken Magnetic Microphone through Beads. Then moved the thing around. Putting it close to mains power makes for a nice 50Hz hum, putting it close to the Novation Launchpad makes harsh noise. The most interesting sounds comes from the Roland TR-8. It has several different tones depending on where the microphone is pointed. The last part of the recording is mostly from that.

My first day participating in #weekofpatching (day 2). I'm quite rusty so opted for something similar using vcv rack with the #monome grid sequencer, and an analog video synth for visuals. I filmed a whole 10-minute performance but I'm gonna have to edit and retroactively post about the process on my blog as I'm off to a gig! #vcvrack #cardinal #analog #videosynthesis
