What if, we put tiny bird in bird bath?
In reality, Baked Beans had just refused a mist shower (something birds often like) and instead decided to jump into the water bowl after the keepers left.

BIRTHDAY TIME!
Everyone please wish #BakedBeansOwl a happy first birthday!!!
The keepers have made this lovely hat for bird birthdays. Beans didn't seem to mind the hat, but he was was a bit grumpy about having to go out in public and meet people.
If anyone would like send a birthday present his way, the best thing you can do is support your local zoo, animal hospital, or conservation group. If you'd like to donate to Beans's zoo, here's a link below

You ever had a bad hair day?
How about a bad hair month?
That's right, Beans is molting (but just his head) so he looks really funny right now.

My friends, I have heard it is #Owltober. Which means y'all are due for a #BakedBeansOwl update!
Here he is out on a walk. Still looks a bit scruffy from molting but it's starting to come back in.

Rebuild
For this one I learned about imping, attaching donor feathers to the base of the shafts of a living bird, to get it flying again without having to wait for next year's feathers to come in. The process was developed for hunting falcons, but is now also used to rehabilitate wild birds.

I designed the typefaces to suggest the meaning of the words. “Parliament” is in a gothic script. “Owls” has an owl eye for ‘o’ and the remaining letters are feathered. The owls are, right to left and top to bottom: the Eastern screech, Northern saw-whet, long-eared, Barred, Great Horned and the American Barn owls.

Toot
For this one I had to go back to the saw-whet owl, cause that's the one that's notorious for tooting. It's this call that gave it its name, cause it sounds like a saw being sharpened on a whet-stone.
