Yay!
I fixed a speaker problem with Music Assistant (the music player I've installed on Home Assistant). Every time I asked to play music in a room other than the default player, it was crapping and playing on the default player.
I realized that Music Assistant creates duplicate players, and those duplicates were NOT assigned a room. Oops...
I've also discovered that Music Assistant now supports creating a playlist that contains a radio station. (I'm sure I checked before, and it did not do it.)
The upshot is that I've disabled a custom automation that played Ambi Nature Radio on my bedroom speaker.

still not answering directly to your original poll
but you can use DSP parametric filters for equalisation, verify a lot of parameters of music files and have full control of both local and streaming sources and players
