Hi, I'm Krasen. I build NameDaemon: 18 free tools for .com names, run on a daily snapshot of the whole .com zone. Find names that are really free, score them, watch the ones you can't have yet. No sign-up. I'll post the numbers I find in the zone, how-to posts and plain-English definitions. Ask me anything about domains. https://namedaemon.com/?utm_source=mastodon&utm_campaign=nd30 #introduction #BuildInPublic #Domains #IndieWeb

Our own portfolio was missing a live product domain. It sat at a registrar none of our syncs covered, so it was structurally invisible: no count, no renewal total, no cost line included it. An absent row is not an absent domain. #domains #devops

The easy way to take control of your email and avoid enshittification:

1. Create your own domain name
2. Find a good email provider
3. Use your domain name to create custom email addresses on that email provider
4. If the email provider enshittifies, you can move to a different provider without changing any of your email addresses

(If you're unsure about how to create domain names, I've done a non-technical beginner's guide to them at https://growyourown.services/a-beginners-guide-to-creating-and-using-your-own-domain-name )
