Architects of the world, help a student out.
I'm a very comfortable Linux user, but my schooling has AutoCAD labs and courses.
They're not providing the software for home use, but I imagine after a semester or so I'll be expected to invest into it. However, I'm a Linux user. I'll happily change up my distributions, but what program will be the most comfortable to learn concurrently with my labs in AutoCAD? #architecture #Linux #AutoCAD #college #lookingforrecommendations #lookingforadvice
#autocad

Had a user yesterday claiming our CAD software is bad because the imported dwg showed wrong diameters.
"In #autocad (which we dont actually have) they are fine". I fact checked that, but what made me suspicious was that they were all off by a factor of ~25.
So I checked the units.
Seems like Autocad happily showed inches without any warning to the user, that it's not the default.
Where as our CAD just assumed mm as it should.
